About Him
I am a single medical doctor, as well as an internationally published poet and author who lives adjacent to Overport, Durban. I am also the recipient of literary Awards from the English academy of South Africa. I have cut back on my work schedule and now try to do more with my life. It would be nice to have an ethical friend to share movies, books, theatre, travel, going out to dinner, weekends and walking on the beach. I usually enjoy a single glass of red wine - for its medicinal benefits!
Since I am on my own, I go out to interesting cultural and other events a great deal. I have been all over the world from Japan to Australia to the USA and usually find meeting foreigners and others intellectually stimulating. I enjoy caring for people and helping the disadvantaged with volunteer work when I can. I am a member of my local Community Police Forum and I take an active interest in community welfare.
The ex wife and my children now live overseas.
I have an aversion to gambling and drug addicts. Empathy, chemistry and understanding are vital ingredients to any friendship - I'm a good listener: it's part of my job!
I have a calm, peaceful temperament. I avoid conflict and arguments.
I have a home and a swimming pool (among other things). I get to the gym at least once a week.
