About Him
I am an outdoorsman, horseman, and hunter. Passionate about the bush, wildlife, horses, leather, timber and the simpler pleasures of life. Young at heart, fun, energetic. Single parent to a gorgeous 21 year old daughter, studying in Cape Town, and an awesome 26 year old son, Financial Planner, also in Cape Town.
I have lived most of my adult life in the bush of Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique. Been involved in almost all aspects of the safari industry. Currently mostly active doing horse-back trail guiding in Big Game areas, and Game Bird Shooting trips, based on the luxury Rovos Rail train.
I derive immense satisfaction from working with my hands, particularly with leather and wood.
Actively make a wide variety of high quality leather goods. I love refurbishing or building western saddles.
An additional hobby and business activity is milling good quality timber from logs into boards and beams, using a portable sawmill.
I really like meaningful , simple activities and pastimes.
I am an active climber and hiker, and participate regularly in the Mountain Club Search & Rescue Team.
I find the digital world somewhat confusing, and feel that it generally adds complication to our lives, despite the general perception that it is improving the quality of our lives. Thus I strive to keep it to the minimum in my world, without burying my head in the sands of the past.
I am known to be caring, honest and giving to a fault, with a very loving and passionate temperament.
Since my wife's passing ten years ago from Cancer, I have enjoyed a number of wonderful temporary relationships. However I am still searching for The Special One that will endure.
