Im not sure if I'll meet my soul mate here, but i always keep an open mind... in the meantime, i would like to share a message, and if all that happens, is if I make you think about a few things other than the rat race occupation, then I'll be satisfied. So here goes:
I never knew there are so many NATURE loving, adventure seeking people out there! Seems like everyone starts their narratives more or less the same way....
But I can't help to wonder if us nature loving people are actually doing anything to try and prevent the eco-cide we are witnessing?
Do we still invest money into buying dirty energy petrol driven cars fuelling the industry with our demand and supply? Do 50million of us buy a shopping bag or 2 EVERYDAY we do grocery shopping?? Do we buy and support genetically modified chemically enhanced food, are we even aware that ALL maize in South Africa is genetically modified, yet being banned all over the world now? And what do we do with all the packaging of all the "stuff" we like to buy? Do we recycle our batteries and CFL globes that is absolutely detrimental to the environment for 100's of years after it lands up on our over flowing landfills? What do we do to make sure we leave a better (or at least functional) earth behind for our kids and their kids to enjoy? Money won't buy clean water, fresh air and bring the extinct animals back...
What legacy are we leaving behind? One that we can be proud of, that we did the right thing despite our culture of buying into materialistic gain to the detriment of our planet? Or one that will leave us as the shameful generation, buying blindly into consuming at the expense of all that's natural and wild?
Be the change you want to see in this world.
It's costs nothing to speak out, but keeping quiet could cost us everything..
