The most precious gems one can collect are the friends one makes along the way. Some are rough diamonds, some may be dull and colourless unless viewed in the right light, and others sparkle at first sight. And like many gemstones in nature, they also have inclusions, sometimes referred to as flaws. If we enjoy them as they are, realising that their warmth and beauty makes up for their imperfections, if we concentrate on their better aspects, the flaws become insignificant and merely add to their individuality. I enjoy the freedom of working from home in the publishing industry, but unfortunately it also means that I don't get to meet many people and have fallen into a rut. Although I am happy on my own, I think it is time to broaden my horizons, as I do get lonely from time to time, and to share joy is to have double the amount of joy!
