About Him
I am a hydraulic engineer sailing the world, working on a book about climate change. I used to work on huge Dutch dikes. I thought it was a waste of money to build dikes. I would rather fight rising sea level. I thought about the idea to cool the ocean water. And it is easy. Just use foam. The sun can' heat the water. But the problem is that the seawater can absolutely not be warmed en surely cannot release any warmth. The air and the greenhouse gasses recieve no heat. An insulated ocean means Ice Age or worse. Don't tell the terrorist because an insulated ocean means devastation. Because ice or foam cannot be warmed by the sun. If everything is covered with an insulating material the world will end in a white christmas ball for ever. The sun can't even heat a single stone anymore. the air stays cool. The idea is simple. Anything that insulates the earth crust (plants, snow or foam) keeps the earth crust much cooler. I think we can tackle the 2 degrees warming of CO2 with an earthcrust that can be cooled 2 degrees with insulating techniques.It is always a Dutchman that keeps his finger in a dike, just to keep the lowlands like the Maladives above the ocean. And for sure I was recently sailing Cape Agulhas in a severe storm. In the yacht I show on the pictures. They called me the Flying Dutchman in SA. But I wasn't.

See the world. My life hasn't been easy. The fun of life is to challenge doing things and to aim at a goal. Not aiming at all means failure.

She must like travalling. She likes the challenge of adventure. She should know a little bit about how to run a sailing yacht. But don't worry. I will teach. I crossed the ocean 5 times and recently sailed Cape of Good Hope all alone. I almost shit in my pants. Because a severe storm broke my main rudder. But I survived. The called me the Flying Dutchman in Hout Bay.
She must be aware that I have to work on my earth crust insulation idea. I am not perfect. I want a little comfort to aim at my goals. The scientist say the air gets hotter. I say the earth crust gets hotter. But I am not a scientist. I am anintellligent sailor.
To share the pain is half the pain. To share the happiness is double the happiness. Gedeelde smart is halve smart. Geluk moet je met je partner delen.
If she is nice to me? I will promise her the world.......... if I loose? I will know true love. To make a goal is fun, but to aim at the goal is more fun. De weg naar het geluk is beter dan het geluk zelf.
