About Him
Well, it’s quite a challenge to write about yourself other than a few tidy adjectives which don’t do much in describing who you are, but I do see that it’s necessary to catch someone’s serious attention
After living alone now for a few years I feel a growing need to share life with a woman again. Although sharing space closely with someone is certainly not always easy, living without an emotional and sexual partner begins to feel more and more unbalanced and even unhealthy. I’d love to wake up with someone, and to come home to someone (not that you have to stay at home). To share responsibilities and kindnesses. To face difficulties together as well as enjoy the good moments. To talk together -that’s so important but sometimes so difficult. To laugh together – that would be wonderful. I imagine a woman whose presence makes my heart beat faster and makes me feel glad to attend to life’s (sometimes tedious) routines.
I live on a large and green property near the sea on the lower south coast of KZN. I’m recently learning to enjoy
the bounty that it’s earth can potentially provide. I love to run around on the beach with the dogs or climb over the rocks with my son. He’s five and is often at home with me. My teenage daughters come and go as it suits them.
Reading can be deeply satisfying and I’d spend more time doing it if I could. And cozying up in bed next to the one you love with a good book is the nicest way to end the day. I also like to cook and enjoy good food but can’t be bothered with complicated recipes. Going to the movies is also good, as is bringing home a good dvd, and even watching tv is often pleasantly relaxing. Oh, and exercise is good for me – I should do it more often.
About His Ideal Match
I realize that home (where your family, friends and work is) is very important for most of us and precludes many potential relationships with those from far away. Gauteng is certainly far away for me. However I would like to communicate with you if you’re interested in doing so even though a more involved relationship would seem impractical. I work from home largely sitting at this computer and in doing so I feel I’ve become quite isolated (particularly as I live in a small community that doesn’t boast a great cultural life and places to meet the people I’d like to, plus I’m quite shy socially) and it really is time to start making new friendships.
Children are very important to me. Mine because I love them and have to take care of them. And yours (if you have them) as we all have a responsibility to take care of each other’s children and they’re usually fun to be around. Having children myself makes me feel that a relationship would be rather more balanced with a partner who also has.
The world is a fascinating place. (I’d love to keep dashing off to exotic locations if I had the finances, but a journey together someplace away from the tourists would be just great) Although the ever unfolding story of humankind is largely a sad one, I feel it vital to try to learn, and accept it's complexity. I have to admit I do become frustrated with those who show little interest or make crass generalisations or express views laden with prejudice.
Not that I'm looking for a sharp intellectual: I think compassion and grace are the keywords.
